Dr.Emer Byrne MD, MICGP, DRCOG, MSc Aes Med Honorary Lecturer RCSI
Dr.Byrne is the medical director of Kells Medical, a new and exciting surgery providing a vast range of services. A native of Bray Co. Wicklow she earned her primary medical qualification in one of Europe’s oldest medical faculties, Charles University in Prague. After returning to Ireland she worked in general medicine and general surgery before entering Gp training on the North East training scheme based in Navan. Having completed rotations in psychiatry, emergency medicine, paediatrics, and general medicine she earned her membership of the Irish college of general practitioners (MICGP).
Dr. Byrne has higher qualifications in obstetrics and gynaecology, sexual and reproductive health including STI diagnosis and treatment, advanced training in contraception and long-acting reversible contraception insertion (LARC). She is a committee member of the primary care surgical association (PCSA) and has the skills to remove lumps and bumps in a primary care setting.Dr. Byrne has completed a master of science in aesthetic medicine at Queen Mary University in London. She is qualified to safely administer anti-wrinkle injection and fillers.
Dr. Byrne is active in teaching. She facilitates the highly successful surgical workshop and is a speaker at events for Gp trainees. Dr. Byrne welcomes students from RSCI at our second site, the medical clinic in Ballyjamesduff Co.Cavan.
Dr. Byrne is positive about the role and viability of general practice in Ireland and is committed to the core principles of continuity and community.
